They're a friendly bunch, especially that good fellow named Extar. Make sure you plug your mic in Cheesy
We're toying with the idea of getting our own Vent server, but for the time being we can use the Syke one
So yeah. I hate teamspeak. Vent kicks ass. And for those of you who dont know what Vent or Ventrilo is let me explain. Vent is a VOIP or simply put voice over the internet provider. If you have a microphone which can be hooked up to your computer that you can talk into then you can use vent. Vent allows people from all areas across the world to talk to each other. So since many people in our guild range from America to Europe, to Asia , and Australia it provides a vocal form of communication. Also very helpful for PvP or games when you really don't have time to stop and type out what you want to say.
Vent cost nothing (well not for you I still pay for it) and does not come with any spyware, malware, viruses, and etc. because it is a paid service (free to you though) so more reason to use it.
1.) Download Ventrilo here (it is free, get the client version)
Ventrilo
2.) Create a user Name. Click on the arrow to the right of the user name dialouge box. Click new, enter your desired screen name, and then click okay
3.) Find the server. Click on the arrow to the right of the server dialouge box. Click new and enter the following information
Hostname or IP: Chicago4.NationVoice.com (They are the hosting site of the vent server)
Port Number: 3993
Password: bus driver
Then click okay again.
4.) Click connect and BAM! you are in.
If you are having trouble with your mic volume go into setup and in the "Voice" tab on the lower right side there is a category entitled "Amplifiers." (Increase your out bound or inbound if you cannot hear everyone well.) For reference I have mine on Outbound 9 and Inbound 3. Set your hot key as the MOUSE3 button (when you press down on the scorll button between right and left click).
Enjoy! If you have other questions then just post in the forum so I can help you out.
